A Message from Paul Goldbeck FOUNDING DIRECTOR

My name is Paul Goldbeck.  In 2012, I started a senior home care agency serving Bucks, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.  After 9 successful years of delivering living assistance to venerable clientele, I was approached by a well-run home healthcare conglomerate that wished to purchase my agency.  This purchaser wanted to continue our style of care, and it ended up being the perfect fit for the community.  The relationships that I made with my employees, clients, and their families, were some of the most important of my life.  As a community and family, we delivered quality home healthcare to Pennsylvanians, becoming well known for our boutique style of service.

When I set out to change the home healthcare model in 2012, my goal was to create an agency that operated as a family, rather than a franchise.  As I heard stories about agencies that continue to take advantage of employees, and clients alike; I again was inspired to return to home healthcare.  After five years of travel, reflection, and research, I knew exactly how to improve this boutique model of home healthcare.  It was time to re-enter the community, and provide impeccable services once again!

Home care companies market to make consumers feel warm and cozy.  Family, Love, Better, Home, Angels, Heart: these are familiar names of agencies that you see on billboards and on television.  What I learned from running a thriving agency for 9 years is that regardless of how warm the agency name appears, the only thing a client cares about is the actual delivery of services.  The feelings from the company name vanish if the care professional hired does not convey these feelings themselves.  PAULUS is the latin word for humble and little, the perfect words to describe our boutique home healthcare agency.

At PAULUS Home Care we hire veteran care-partners who move and work with a quiet confidence.  These care professionals enjoy a respectful work culture, the highest pay in Pennsylvania, paid time-off, paid sick days, and a community leader that actually cares about them!

The most important word within the PAULUS Home Care model is transparency.  Transparency begins with financials, and it continues in the reporting of how employees are chosen, trained, and respected throughout their tenure at PAULUS Home Care.

It is vitally important that the home healthcare consumer, as well as their family, understand where their money is going when they are paying their monthly bills for home healthcare.  Most agencies are profiting $10-$15 per hour from your hourly payments.  In my opinion, this antiquated model for home healthcare, is unfair and dangerous to a community that requires respect.  In the next 10 years there will be a massive increase in the elder population, and home care agencies stand to inherit the majority of people's savings, instead of their children.  PAULUS Home Care aims to stand against this unfairness, while doing what we do best; supporting seniors inside their own homes.

Our CARE TRANSPARENCY SHEET shows the consumer exactly how their funds are being spent within our agency.  This information is also proudly shared with our employees, who enjoy and depend on being paid the best salary in the industry.

PAULUS Home Care Community Promise:

15% of funds will be considered agency profit.
70% of funds will be considered employee payment.
15% of funds will be identified for community support (these funds covers unemployment compensation, liability insurance, bonding, workmen's compensation insurance, and payroll taxes).

With an average cost of care being $24.00 per hour, your care-partner can expect to be making $17.00+ per hour.  With Pennsylvania's average home care worker making $12-15.00 per hour, the difference in annual salary represents a huge victory for both the home care consumer and employee.

PAULUS Home Care Starting Employee Annual Salary:       $35,360.00 per year
Pennsylvania Home Care Companies Average:                  $24,960.00 per year
How much more PAULUS' employees make per year:        $10,400.00 per year

By choosing PAULUS Home Care, you are choosing a model of home care that pays employees a comfortable wage without increasing the cost of your actual care.  By promising that our community abides by the above payment standards, we feel we are creating the safest environment for both employees and clients.

Thank you for trusting our community to support your family in this very important time.
